CHAIR OF EAFONS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Professor Mari Ikeda
Chair, East Asian Forum of Nursing Scholars
(EAFONS)
Dear Colleagues, Scholars, and Friends,
It is with great pleasure and deep appreciation that I welcome you all to the upcoming East Asian Forum of Nursing Scholars (EAFONS) Conference. This year, we gather in Singapore, a dynamic hub of innovation and cultural diversity, and a fitting setting for our theme: “Innovate, Integrate, Inspire: Advancing Nursing Excellence in the Digital Era.”
In a time of unprecedented technological transformation, our mission as nursing scholars and practitioners has never been more critical or more promising. Innovation is no longer optional. Integration of new knowledge, digital tools, and interdisciplinary collaboration is essential. And above all, we must continue to inspire one another, across borders, across generations, and roles in education, practice, and research.
At EAFONS, we firmly believe that nurses make the difference, not only at the bedside, but in policy-making, system design, and shaping the future of healthcare in Asia and beyond. This conference is a celebration of that impact. It is also a call to action.
As Chair, I hold a deep commitment to empowering early-career researchers and clinical practitioners, especially across Asia. Their energy, creativity, and dedication are the driving force of our profession’s future. Through this Forum, we aim to foster a community that nurtures these voices, strengthens regional collaboration, and advances doctoral education that is both rigorous and relevant.
Let us use this gathering to challenge old assumptions, build new bridges, and share knowledge that will truly transform nursing care. Whether you are presenting your first research paper or sharing decades of wisdom, your contribution matters.
Together, let us innovate boldly, integrate wisely, and inspire continuously.
